b. Obtaining a San & Pin to Commission the Direcway Modem
How To Request a Billing ID
In order to activate the Direcway modems for your customer,
you need to have a San & Pin number issued to you by Ground
Control. These two numbers are used when you run the
installer program on the DW6000 direcway modem (that we
will speak of later on).
When you run the registration program from the modem, it will
ask for the San & Pin number. Once completed, the modem is
"Commissioned" and ready to use.
To gain a San & Pin number, you will need to fill out a "Bandwidth
Activation Form".
Please take some time to review this form.
- Dealer name: - This is the Installer's company name.
- Installer name: - The person you wish to have the ISP call it issue the San & Pin number... This number is needed to commission or "turn on" the Direcway modem.
- Installer Phone: - Please use a "direct" phone number or cell phone number for this short call.
- Date: - Please put in today's date.
- Customer Name - The name of the buyer
- Company Name - The name of the customers company. (This is optional).
- Installation Address - The address the dish is being installed.
- City, State, ZIP code - of the installation address.
- IRU# Serial: - This is the serial number of the Direcway Modem (called the IRU) is located on a sticker on the back of the Direcway modem. It has only numbers, no letters. It is not the P/N number. See image below:

- Customer Home Phone Number
- Customer Email
- Customer FAX (if known).
- Type of Service: Mobile or Fixed. - Obviously, check the mobile service.
- Modems: Check DW6000 unless the customer is using an older modem
- Dish Size: Check the size of dish being used (Mobile is .74 meter almost always).
- Service Level: Mobile service is almost always Basic. Check this box.
- Installation Requested: If you are not performing the installation yourself, check this box and Ground Control will coordinate an installation.
- Equipment Requested: Check this if equipment has not yet been purchased from Ground Control.
- Public IP address: - If the customer requires a Public (Static) or Dynamic IP address check the appropriate box. If the customer does not know what they want, choose a Dynamic IP address.
- Number if IP address needed. Choice of 0, 1 or 5 IPs. There is an extra charge for 5 IPs.
- Requested Satellite: Request the satellite to be comissioned on.
- PAYMENT INFORMATION
- AMEX / VISA / MASTERCARD - Please circle the card the customer will be using to pay for their monthly Internet access.
- Name on Credit Card: - The customer name on the credit card.
- Billing Address: - The address the Credit Card invoice goes to.
- Customer Signature - The Customer Signature.
- CC# - The Credit Card Number for the monthly bandwidth charges.
- Exp. Date: - The date the credit card expires.
Make sure the customer signs this form. Ground Control in not able to process the order unless this form has been signed.
Once Ground Control is faxed this information, a San & Pin is issued normally within the same business day. Make sure you are near the Contact Phone so that you may get the billing ID.
